Health and Welfare Information from Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)
Each of the 88 County Boards contract for services or employ an Investigative Agent (IA). The IA is required to investigate all reported MUIs. These investigations include the identification of causes and contributing factors as well as prevention plans to help reduce the likelihood of re-occurrence.
DODD is responsible for overseeing statewide systems of supports and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. The Major Unusual Incident (MUI) Unit plays a critical role by providing oversight to County Boards and Providers to help assure the health and welfare of individuals receiving services in Ohio.
The MUI Unit employs fifteen staff and is comprised of three primary entities: Intake, Regional Managers and Registry Investigators.Medicaid Toolkit

OSDA is a non-profit organization who empowers people with disabilities. Our goal is to expand awareness of self-determination principles, provide valuable training resources, and promote advocacy efforts.The OSDA Board includes people with disabilities, family members, private providers, and county boards of DD.Ohio Association of County Boards of DD
The Ohio Association of County Boards Serving People with Developmental Disabilities (OACB) is a non-profit organization specializing in providing information, continuing education, and legislative liaison to Ohio's 88 County Boards of Developmental Disabilities.The Provider Search Tool is intended to help people select a provider and help improve overall services.
